Alexey Sychev has established himself as one of the leading pianists of his generation. He is the only pianist in the world to have received Gold Medals at three international Franz Liszt Piano Competitions, including First Prize, the Audience Prize, and a Special Prize at the VIII International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Weimar, Germany.

A laureate of more than 30 international music competitions across five continents, Alexey Sychev was awarded the Top Prize and the Audience Prize at the 21st Jose Iturbi International Piano Competition in Valencia. A few years earlier, he became a laureate of the Dublin International Piano Competition and the Maria Canals International Music Competition.

He has also won First Prizes at the International Piano Competition Tucumán in Argentina, Steinway Competition in Germany, the International Musical Competition "Dr. Luis Sigall" in Chile, the World Online Piano Competition in the United States, the International Piano Competition of Princess Lalla Meryem in Morocco, the International Radio Competition “Concertino Praga” in the Czech Republic, Franz Liszt International Competitions in Parma and Grottammare, Italy, chaired by Martha Argerich.

Additional top prizes include Jaén International Piano Competition in Spain, G.B. Viotti International Music Competition in Italy, Fujairah International Piano Competition in the UAE and San Marino International Piano Competition.

Alexey Sychev has performed recitals in over 20 countries, with notable venues including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Sala de Concerts of Palau de la Música in Barcelona, National Concert Hall of Ireland, Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory, Salle Cortot in Paris, Dvořák Hall in Prague, Musikverein in Vienna, Sala Argentina in Buenos Aires, and National Congress of Chile.

As a soloist, Alexey has collaborated with numerous orchestras throughout Europe and the Americas, including RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, The Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra, Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, Chilean National Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Arturo Toscanini, Staatskapelle Weimar, and Staatskapelle Schwerin.

Alexey has been invited to perform at prestigious international festivals, including Beethovenfest in Bonn, Germany; the Gina Bachauer Festival in Salt Lake City, United States; Salzburger Festspiele in Austria; Semanas Musicales in Chile and the Verdi Festival in Parma, Italy. He has released CDs on Czech Radio (2008) and Naxos of America (2019).

Alexey Sychev graduated with Honors from the prestigious Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. He continued his musical education at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, and the University of Münster, where he received the Konzertexamen degree, the highest qualification in music performance in Germany. Among his teachers were Alexei Nasedkin, Pavel Nersessian, Jacques Rouvier, Arnulf von Arnim and Jan Jiracek von Arnim. He also received guidance from artists such as Paul Badura-Skoda, Bernd Goetzke, Klaus Hellwig, Jerome Rose and Arie Vardi.

He has been regularly invited as a jury member at international piano competitions in various countries, including Austria, Israel, Russia and Japan.

In addition to his performance career, Alexey Sychev is a sought-after educator, giving masterclasses at conservatories worldwide. He is a guest professor at Castellón Conservatory in Spain and a faculty member at CIMPF Piano Festival (UK–China). He has mentored numerous students who won prizes at international piano competitions in Europe, Japan and the United States.
